四大名著 ,日人曰 四大奇書 ,曰,曰,曰,曰,後代。其書皆成於明、清,歷數百年之滄桑而不腐,後人多有改編,成電視劇、電影、電子遊戲云云。

                                     

1. 背景

中華上下數千年,自世說新語以來,前有搜神記,後有大唐西域記,太平廣記文苑夜話之史書類層出不窮,至宋方始改史為戲,明始稱「小說」。泰西亦有嘗作如是書者,而中華之民,多所樂觀,好喜而懼悲,親大眾而遠小眾,藉商品經濟之發展而成市。迨明清之際,國疲民乏,兼有內憂外患,百姓苦不堪言。當是時,多有藉古諷今者。

                                     

2. 遺

古來幻設神魔之文難登大雅之堂,然四大名著顛覆之,於是仿作者起,「自羅貫中氏三國志一書,以國史演為通俗演義,汪洋百余回,為世所尚。嗣是效颦日眾,因而有夏書、商書、列國、兩漢、唐書、残唐、南北宋諸刻,其浩瀚幾與正史分籤併架。」百花齊放,方有文章。
